Qatar Chamber (QC) will launch a special award of excellence for distinguished companies and Qatari economists early next year.
The QC board of directors, at its regular meeting on Thursday, decided to form a specialised committee of experts to set the standards for the excellence award, which would be given to distinguished companies and Qatari economists with a track record of achievements that have helped enrich the Qatari economy.
The award is the outcome of a discussion of a suggestion submitted by QC board member Mohamed Jawhar al- Mohamed in this respect.
The meeting also decided to relieve QC Director-General Remy Rowhani of his duties and temporarily assign the post to Saleh al-Sharqi, QC deputy general manager.
Further, the regular meeting of the board of directors discussed a suggestion by Ali al-Misnad, QC honorary treasurer, to organise a forum for the private sector to introduce the chamber’s services and discuss how to enhance communication between the private
sector and QC staff .
