H.E. Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, said that holding this event reflects the state’s keenness to involve the private sector in the economic development process and enable it to contribute effectively to achieving the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

He noted that the forum represents an important opportunity to discuss the challenges facing suppliers and contractors in dealing with the concerned authorities, and to work on finding practical solutions that help facilitate procedures and develop the government contracting system.

Twar pointed out that the Qatar Chamber attaches great importance to the government procurement file, working to convey the observations and proposals of business owners to the relevant authorities. He stressed the Chamber’s readiness to cooperate with all government entities to develop procurement and supply mechanisms in line with international best practices, in a manner that ensures priority for the national product in government purchases.

He also noted that the next stage requires greater coordination to ensure the increased participation of national companies in government tenders, particularly small, medium, and even micro enterprises—and to encourage them to engage in this vital field. This, he affirmed, would enhance the competitiveness of the national economy and support the sustainability of development in the country.
