Qatar Chamber hosted on Tuesday, 7 July, a delegation representing the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, comprising Mr. Mohamad Mourad, Vice President for International Relations, and Mr. Rafael Solimeo, Director and Head of the International Office. The delegation was received by Mr. Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidly, a member of Qatar Chamber’s Board of Directors.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed trade and economic cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Federative Republic of Brazil, as well as the role of Qatar Chamber and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in strengthening these relations. They also explored ways to enhance the role of the private sectors in both countries in promoting bilateral trade and mutual investment.
The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides and develop a roadmap aimed at boosting bilateral trade and increasing mutual investments across various sectors, particularly food security and food industries.
During the meeting, Al Obaidly received an official invitation addressed to H.E. Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber, to participate as a keynote speaker in the fifth edition of the Arab-Brazilian Economic Forum, which will be held in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo on August 25, in cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers and under the auspices of the League of Arab States.
Mr. Mohamad Mourad, Vice President for International Relations at the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, noted that the forum will be held under the theme, “The Global Economy in Transformation: A New Agenda between Brazil and the Arab Countries.”
He invited Qatar Chamber to participate in the forum, which aims to consolidate relations between Brazil and the Arab countries and strengthen partnerships between the private sectors in both regions.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidly praised the strong relations between the State of Qatar and Brazil. He stressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to enhancing trade cooperation and encouraging the establishment of joint ventures and alliances between Qatari and Brazilian companies, thereby contributing to increased trade exchange between the two countries.
