Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, Board Member of Qatar Chamber and Chairman of Food Security and Environment Committee, Wednesday, August 19, inaugurated Nesto Hypermarket at the former Passport Building in Al Gharafa, in the presence of a number of business owners and entrepreneurs.

Accompanied by the hypermarket’s officials, Al Obaidli toured the premises, where he visited the various sections and learned about the key products and services offered by the hypermarket.

In press statements, Mr. Mohamed Al Obaidli said that Qatar Chamber supports the private sector and entrepreneurs and encourages the launch of new commercial and investment projects, contributing to stimulating commercial activity, enhancing market diversity, and strengthening food security in the country.

He added that the opening of new commercial projects reflects investors’ and business owners’ confidence in the Qatari economy and the opportunities available in the local market. He noted that Qatar Chamber is keen to support the private sector and provide a favorable environment for business growth and expansion.

Al Obaidli congratulated the management of Nesto Hypermarket on the opening, wishing the project continued success and prosperity. He expressed hope that the hypermarket would serve as a valuable addition to the commercial sector and continue to provide quality products and services that meet consumers’ needs.

For his part, Mr. Ibrahim Al Fadala, the local partner, said: “We are pleased with this opening, particularly as it is located in a historic building known to everyone—the former Passport Building—which has been transformed over the past two years into a three-storey facility offering a wide range of products, including food items, clothing and electrical appliances, all at high quality and competitive prices.”

He noted that this is the first Nesto Group branch in Qatar and the Group’s 152nd branch worldwide, adding that additional branches will be opened in Qatar in the coming period.

Al Fadala expressed his appreciation to Qatar Chamber for its support for business owners and the Qatari private sector, and thanked Mr. Mohamed Al Obaidli, Board Member of Qatar Chamber and Chairman of the Food Security Committee, for inaugurating the hypermarket.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Jamal Kunjiparambath, Managing Director – Nesto Group, said: “We are extremely proud to celebrate the opening of our 152nd Nesto outlet in Qatar. This milestone is a reflection of our strong commitment to the Qatar market and the trust our customers have placed in us. Our focus has always been to provide quality products, competitive prices and a convenient shopping experience that delivers greater value to every family.”

Nesto has also announced ambitious plans for further growth in Qatar, including significant investment in the market and the development of additional hypermarkets and retail outlets. The Group’s expansion strategy underlines its long-term vision of becoming even more accessible to customers while continuing to enhance the quality and convenience of the shopping experience.

The opening of the 152nd store is therefore more than a numerical milestone. It represents another chapter in Nesto’s journey in Qatar and its vision of growing together with the communities it serves. “The 152nd store is not just a number for us; it represents our commitment to being closer to our customers, delivering better value, and growing together with the communities we serve. We look forward to bringing more stores, more choices and even better shopping experiences to customers across Qatar.
