Vietnamese Vice-President calls upon Qatari investors to invest in his country

Vietnamese Vice-President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met on Monday with a delegation of the Qatar Chamber led by its Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani at the Sheraton Hotel.

The delegation included QC Second Vice-Chairman HE Rashid bin Hamad Al-Athba and board member Eng. Ali Abdullatif Al-Misnad.

The meeting was also attended by HE Khalid Ali Abdullah Abel, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam,

The meeting touched on reviewing the bilateral relations between both countries, especially in the economic and commercial fields and ways to enhance them, in addition to the investment climate and opportunities available on both sides and the role of the private sector in activating the trade exchange between both countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Vietnamese Vice-President Vo Thi Anh Xuan praised the relations between both countries, noting that she is interested in developing these relations to higher levels, especially in the commercial and investment areas, and increasing the two countries’ bilateral trade exchange, as well as enhancing cooperation in the Halal trade and facilitating the entry of Vietnamese Halal products into the markets of Islamic countries.

She reviewed the investment climate available in Vietnam, stressing that her country is looking forward to attracting Qatari investors and calling on Qatari investors in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Vice-President also pointed out that her country provides a host of incentives for Qatari investors, affirming the role that can be performed by chambers of both countries in offering facilitations for businessmen from both countries in a way that contributes to deepening investment and commercial cooperation between both countries.

For his part, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim stressed Qatari businessmen’s interest in learning about the investment climate and opportunities in Vietnam, especially in agriculture, technology and mining sectors, affirming that there are several Qatari countries are eager to direct their investments to Vietnam.

Sheikh Khalifa also assured the Chamber’s interest in strengthening cooperation between business sectors in both countries, referring to the meeting which will be held at the end of this week between Qatari businessmen and a Vietnamese trade delegation to review cooperation vistas and the possibility to establish commercial partnerships and alliances between Qatari and Vietnamese business, as well as means to develop trade exchange between both countries.

HE also said that the Qatar Chamber will organise a business trip for a number of Qatari businessmen to Vietnam to explore the investment opportunities available there.
