Venezuelan minister to explore trade opportunities with Qatar

Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari met with a Venezuelan trading delegation headed by Minister of Tourism & Foreign Trade, Felix Ramon Gonzalez. The meeting touched on reviewing cooperation relations between the Qatari private sector and its Venezuelan counterpart and identifying investment opportunities available in both sides.

Venezuela’s ambassador to Qatar Giuseppe Angelo Yoffreda Yorio was also present.

Al Kuwari said that Qatar and Venezuela are connected by strong relation at all fields, noting that their trade exchange is still below expectations.

He assured the importance of intensifying cooperation between both countries business sectors, stressing that Qatari businessmen are eager to identify the investment opportunities available in Venezuela and build trade and economic alliances with Venezuelan companies for the good of both countries’ trade trade. also stressed the Qatar Chamber’s support and encourage for businessmen from both sides to forge joint ventures and partnerships at all economic sectors.

For his part, Gonzalez said that his visit aimed at learning the potential of the Qatari market and the investment opportunities available in Qatar.

He called on Qatari businessmen to invest in his country in tourism, agriculture, energy and other sectors. He said that Venezuela is full of investment opportunities and obtains huge potentials and raw materials, noting that it is the second in South America in producing natural gas.

Both sides agreed to activate the MoU signed between Qatar and Venezuelan chamber in 2015 to further strengthen cooperation between the private sectors and exchange information and mutual visits.
