SOUQ HAL QATAR, a commercial exhibition featuring more than 30 Qatari productive families & their hand made products, was officially launched at Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall. The initiative was launched in the presence of Qatar Chamber Board Member, Ms. Ibthihaj Al Ahmedani, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bin Khaled Bin Hamad Al Thani on behalf of H.E Sheikh Khaled Bin Hamad Al Thani, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Khaled Bin Hamad Al Thani Vice Chairman of Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall.
On the side lines of the opening ceremony Qatar Chamber board member Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, said that her participation in today ceremony stemmed out from the Chamber’s interest in encouraging home‐made businesses and entrepreneurs and supporting them by providing free spaces to display their products in the Mall. She noted that home‐made business and productive families sector enhances “Made in Qatar” slogan and expands the contribution of the locally‐produced items inside and outside the country.
Speaking about the role played by Qatari businesswomen in the national economy, Al Ahmadani said that female exhibitors registered strong presence in the expo. They displayed their products in highly‐innovated mechanisms which were highly acclaimed by visitors of the mall, she pointed out.
Al Ahmadani extended thanking to Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall for providing this ideal opportunity that enables home‐made entrepreneurs to showcase and promote their own products for one month.
Under the patronage of Qatar Chamber, SOUQ HAL QATAR at Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall aims to support productive families, home-made and handcrafts entrepreneurs. It provides a platform for local micro-enterprises to showcase a wide range of goods produced by home-based businesses including clothes, food, perfumes and accessories. The exhibition is regarded as a perfect destination for Qatari productive families to introduce their products to the community.
Sheikh Khalifa Bin Khaled Bin Hamad Al Thani Vice Chairman of Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall said “We firmly believe that SOUQ HAL QATAR will provide Qatari productive families an opportunity to develop their businesses further and in the long run will create great value to our country’s economy.” He thanked Qatar Chamber for their wonderful support and co-operation in organizing SOUQ HAL QATAR. “Initiatives like SOUQ HAL QATAR, which promotes small and medium businesses are important catalysts in our Nation’s journey to create a fully diversified and sustainable economy”.
“We are glad to launch this exhibition at Hyatt Plaza, as it will support the Qatari productive families and homebased businesses. This is our first step and we will create more initiatives in the coming months to support the SMEs” he concluded.
