Qatar Chamber plans survey

Qatar Chamber (QC), in co-operation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence (GDCD), is set to launch a survey regarding the challenges faced by businesses in meeting with the civil defence standards.
A questionnaire will be distributed to all businesspersons and business representatives in Qatar to ascertain their views and experiences on related issues.
The outcomes will be discussed at an open meeting to be hosted by QC for businesspersons and GDCD officials concerned.
A proposal in this connection was discussed at a meeting of the joint committee of QC and GDCD in the presence of QC member Mohamed Mahdi al-Ahbabi and GDCD’s prevention department assistant director Major Hussein Aman al-Ali.
Al-Ahbabi welcomed the co-operation with GDCD, stressing that it is highly helpful for the business community in Qatar. “It plays an important role in promoting the culture of safety and security, and the necessity of compliance with GDCD standards,” he said.
Major al-Ali said that GDCD is keen to discuss all the issues facing businesses in complying with the set standards of GDCD and will work closely with QC in arriving at practical and timely solutions.
The committee suggested that a team of businesspersons should be formed to maintain communication with the committee regarding the follow-up of the achieved targets in the area of safety and security.
