Qatar Chamber seeks to attract foreign investments to the state, says Rashid Al-Athba

Qatar Chamber Second Vice-Chairman HE Rashid bin Hamad Al-Athba received on Wednesday a delegation from the Republic of Haiti led by the General Manager of Center for Facilitation of Investment (CFI) Leonne Prophete to review economic and commercial cooperation between Qatar and Haiti and explore investment opportunities available in both sides.

The meeting was also attended by HE Francois Guillaume, Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to the State of Qatar.

Speaking at the meeting, Al-Athba said that Qatari investors are eager to forge new investments in friendly countries in line with the state’s economic diversification policy, stressing that the Qatar Chamber is keen to boost cooperation between Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from world countries.

HE underscored the Chamber’s preparedness to provide all information regarding the business climate and sectors in which both sides can cooperate.

Al-Athba affirmed the Chamber’s support for attracting more foreign investments to the state in various sectors, especially since it offers world-class infrastructure and leading legislation, noting that Qatar is open for investments.

On her part, General Manager of the Center for Facilitation of Investment (CFI) Marie Fatima Leonne said that the delegation’s visit is part of its participation in the 5th UN LDCs, indicating that the delegation is willing to learn about the sectors in which both sides can cooperate in.

HE Francois Guillaume, Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti to the State of Qatar, said that the delegation’s visit aims to inform Qatari investors on the investment opportunities available in Haiti, noting that the Haitian side is interested to strengthen relations between chambers of both countries due to the leading role they can perform in bridging relations between Qatari and Haitian businessmen and companies.

Guillaume praised the reforms executed by Qatar regarding labourers’ rights and the significant improvement in their conditions.
