Online registration ongoing for QC’s general assembly meeting

The Qatar Chamber (QC) will hold its general assembly meeting (GAM) at 12 a.m. on Thursday May 21.

The meeting, chaired by QC Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al Thani, will be held through video conference technology.

The QC said that due to the current circumstances and in adherence with the precautionary measures taken to curb the outbreak of coronavirus, this year GAM would be held electronically.

QC Director General Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi called on businessmen and the chamber’s members to register for attending the meeting, affirming that the registration is ongoing through the Chamber’s website www.qatarchamber.com

He also said that the registration will be open until the meeting day and will close one hour before the meeting on May 21, noting that after the registration, each member will receive a link to follow up and participate in the meeting.

Al Sharqi pointed out that if a quorum is not achieved at the first meeting, the second meeting would be held on Monday, June 8 regardless of the number of attendees.

The meeting’s agenda includes the reviewing of the board of director’s report on the activities of Qatar Chamber for the year ended December 31, 2019.

The meeting’s agenda also includes a discussion on Qatar Chamber’s fiscal report for the year ending December 31, 2019 through the auditor’s report on the final accounts, and the statement of income and expenses for the same period.

Similarly, the agenda also included the approval of the estimated budget for the fiscal year 2020, and the appointment of a new auditor for the financial year 2020, the statement added.
