Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia HE Mesganu Arga and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of a number of QC board members.
The meeting touched on enhancing economic cooperation between Qatar and Ethiopia, reviewing the investment opportunities available and encouraging Qatari investors to invest in Ethiopia.
It discussed the possibility to hold a joint business forum that bring together Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from Ethiopia to explore areas of cooperation and partnership in various sectors.
Speaking at the meeting, Ethiopian Minister HE Mesganu Arga praised the distinguished relations between Qatar and Ethiopia and Qatar’s amazing host of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
HE also noted that his country is developing its investment legislation to attract more investments, indicating that it offers a host of incentives and tax exemptions that enhance the investment climate and attract foreign investors, as well as the easiness of doing business and capital transfer.
Arga called on Qatari investors to visit his country to get acquainted with the investment opportunities it offers in a number of sectors, such as agriculture, hospitality, tourism, real estate, industry, and energy.
For his part, HE Sheikh Khalifa paid tribute to the close relations between both countries, stressing that Qatari investors are keen to learn about the opportunities galore in Ethiopia.
Sheikh Khalifa also underscored the Chamber’s interest to encourage Qatari businessmen to enhance cooperation with their Ethiopian counterparts and find out opportunities available there.
