QC, Kazakh Chamber MoU to boost business ties

The Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QC) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.

The agreement was signed by QC Vice President Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Twar and Ian Yarinov, President of the International Chamber of Kazakhstan on the sidelines of ‘Made in Qatar’ expo in Doha.

A delegation of 50 Kazakh businessmen attended the meeting.

According to the MoU, businessmen from Qatar and Kazakhstan will visit each other’s countries to establish joint projects and share knowledge.

During a tour of the exhibition pavilions, members of the Kazakh delegation led by Yirlan, hailed the development achieved by Qatari industries, stressing that there are opportunities for cooperation between the two sides in agriculture, mining, food security and other key sectors.

Twar said the visit of the Kazakh delegation opens up huge prospects for discussing the possibility of joint partnerships and projects between the two countries.

He said the unjust siege imposed on Qatar by the Saudi-led bloc has opened gates for establishing stronger relations with countries around the world, and the private sector succeeded in finding alternative ways to supply essential goods required by the state.

Twar pointed out that the opening of new maritime lines, greater focus on industry and agriculture, and huge support for the locally-made products have contributed to beating the crisis.
