QC hosts Gulf Chambers’ exec committee meet

The Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry today hosted an executive committee meeting of the Federation of Gulf Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Qatar Chamber director-general Saleh al Sharqi said that the meeting discussed a number of issues, including the movement of goods between the Gulf countries, increased employment of Gulf citizens and the proposed electronic link between GCC chambers.

He said the recommendations of the meeting would be submitted to the conference of the chairmen of Gulf Chambers to be held in the first week of December for further action.

“The meeting of the chairmen will examine increasing cooperation and trade between the GCC countries, holding exhibitions of various industries in all States, as well as discussing the obstacles facing the Gulf investors,” he said.

The next meeting will also discuss solutions to problems hampering bilateral trade process in the Gulf, besides addressing ways to generate more employment opportunities within the GCC through establishing an electronic link between the ministries of labour.

The creation of a single-window application system for job seekers will also be discussed, he said.
