The eighth edition of the training program for customs brokers kicked at the venue of Qatar Chamber (QC) in collaboration with the general authority of customs (GAC), according to a press release issued by the Chamber.
The program which is being attended by fifty trainees working in the field of customs clearance aims to help acquire knowledge and understanding of the regulations, laws and procedures for customs clearance.
The objective of the course is to give accredited qualifications for the customs clearance officers by training them on the necessary skills to enable them to offer high quality services to the public dealing with them.
The press release said the training programme aims at qualifying and training custom clearance officers and at improving the capacities of custom professionals with a view to promoting performance and providing distinguished custom services.
Over 87 hours of training program addresses a number of topics related to the procedures, customs exemptions, customs clearance, outstanding fees, and restriction.
Trainees who attend the programme will get an accredited certificate from QC that qualifies them to undergo the GAC exams for customs clearance officers at GAC headquarters.
The cooperation between QC and GAC contributed to qualifying more than 350 customs trainees over the last year, said the release.
