Qatar Chamber’s Health Committee has held a meeting headed by QC Board Member and Chairperson of the Committee Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani in the presence of the committee’s members.

The meeting discussed a range of topics related to the private health sector as well as challenges facing the sector with a view to addressing concerned authorities for appropriate solutions.

Members of the Committee expressed their thanks to the Permanent Licensing Committee at the Ministry of Public Health for their cooperation and efforts made for improving the business environment in the health sector.

Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani said that the private sector plays a key role in the development process, noting that the Qatar National Vision 2030 has attached the private sector a special importance as one of the pillars of the national strategy for economic diversification.

She also noted that the private sector investments in the health sector would help mitigate the burden on governmental health institutions, praising the support offered by the state and the facilities provided to the sector.

Al Ahmadani praised the newly-issued laws that encouraged local and foreign investors to invest in private hospitals, as well as providing lands for investors in new cities.

The next meeting of the Committee will focus on discussing a range of topics that contribute to improving the business environment, including the recruitment of competencies and facilitation of licensing procedures, she added.
