QC Education Committee reviews capacity of students and transfer of teachers in private schools

 The Education Committee of Qatar Chamber (QC) recently held its first meeting this year to discuss a number of issues relating to private schools, such as the capacity of students and the transfer of teachers.

Presided over by QC board member Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al-Misnad, on behalf of HE Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al-Kuwari, QC First Vice-Chairman and Chairperson of the Committee, the meeting was also attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Omar Abdulaziz Al-Naama.

During the meeting, Al Misnad expressed his pleasure to be a member of the committee, noting that he is the Chairman of MIE SPPU Institute of Higher Education in Doha.

Attendees also expressed their pleasure for Omar al-Namaa to be a member of the committee.

The meeting discussed several issues, such as the impact of capacity requirements on private schools, and it was agreed that the committee would prepare a memorandum in this regard to submit it to the Assistant Undersecretary.

It also touched on the effects of teachers’ transfer during the school year. Regarding this topic, the committee agreed to coordinate a meeting with the Ministry of Labour to discuss teachers’ contracts and how to prevent teachers from transfer during the school year.

The committee also agreed to form three sub-committees affiliated to it namely: the Digital Transformation Committee, the Nurseries Committee, and the Educational Centres Committee, provided that heads of those sub-committees shall attend meetings of the main Education Committee at the Chamber.

It was also agreed that the committee would hold a meetings every three months, and it could be more if necessary.
