Qatar Chamber First Vice Chairman HE Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari met on Monday at the Chamber’s headquarters a delegation from Dominican Republic headed by Director of Promotion of PPP at Agency of Public Private Partnerships Izalia Lopez.
HE ambassador of Dominican Republic to the State of Qatar George Bahsa Hazim was present at the meeting.
The meeting touched on commercial and economic ties between the two countries and ways to enhancing them, reviewing investment opportunities available in both sides, as well as cooperation prospects between the Qatari private sector and its counterpart in Dominican.
Director of Promotion of PPP at Agency of Public Private Partnerships Izalia Lopez delivered an overview about the Dominican economy and investment climate, noting that she is looking forward to further promote cooperation between both countries in all fields.
Lopez called upon Qatari investors to invest in her country in tourism, energy, real estate, infrastructure, and agriculture, indicating it offers a myriad of incentives for investment in many sectors and it strives to become a regional logistic hub.
QC First Vice Chairman HE Mohamed Al Kuwari stressed the Chamber’s interest to strengthen cooperation between the Qatari private sector and its counterpart in Dominican and promote investment opportunities galore in Dominican before Qatari investors, especially in view of Qatar’s policy aiming to achieve economic diversification and opening new investments in friendly countries.
HE also noted that the Qatari market is attractive and promising and welcomes cooperation between companies from both countries in all sectors.
HE ambassador of Dominican Republic to Qatar said the objective of the delegation’s visit is to bridge relations between the private sectors of both countries and informing the Qatari businessmen on the opportunities available for investment in Dominican Republic.
