HE Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani stressed that the government and the private sector are making great efforts to enhance entrepreneurship in the country and support the SMEs sector to increase its contribution to the country’s gross domestic product.
On the sidelines of the Qatar Chamber SMEs Conference on Monday, His Excellency pointed to QC’s support for entrepreneurs and stimulating investment in SMEs that support the State’s policies in achieving diversification of the economy, referring to “MAAN” initiative launched by Qatar University and QDB.
The chairman pointed out that the third edition of the Qatar Chamber SMEs Conference deals with the British experience in spirit of the close relations that bring the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom together. He added that the common desire strengthens the relations in all economic and commercial fields and pointed out that the two previous editions of the conference dealt with the German and Turkish experiences, respectively.
HE noted that the SMEs conference focused on the British expertise, especially that Qatar and UK enjoyed strong relations in all economic and commercial aspects. He praised the large turnout and participation by the British side that demonstrated the interest of British companies to explore the Qatari market and find out new investment opportunities. QC Chairman expressed his hope that the event closes with agreements between Qatari and British companies to establish mutual projects in SMEs sector.
