QTA and Qatar Chamber collaborate to support investment on side lines of Made in Qatar Exhibition
Qatar Chamber today announced Qatar Tourism Authority’s (QTA) sponsorship of the Qatar-Saudi Forum, which is being held on the side lines of the fifth Made in Qatar Exhibition. Held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, between 6-9 November, this marks the first international edition of the exhibition.
The Forum will present projects currently underway in Qatar and discuss means of generating investment opportunities in the two countries. It will also present the investment opportunities available across various sectors, particularly the tourism sector.
More than 200 Qatari entities will be represented at the exhibition. They include companies and factories with existing interests in the Saudi market as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and family businesses seeking to enter the GCC largest market.
“The Forum we are holding on the side lines of the exhibition is an important platform for discussing existing and potential means for enhancing cooperation between the two neighbouring markets. It is also an opportunity for exchanging ideas between private business owners from the respective countries while shedding light on the investment prospects bringing mutual benefit to both the Qatari and Saudi markets. Qatar Chamber is grateful for QTA’s support for the exhibition through its sponsorship of the Forum,” said Saleh bin Hamad AlSharqy, General Manager of Qatar Chamber.
“Since the launch of Qatar’s new destination brand in late 2015, QTA has intensified efforts to promote the country’s image abroad as a destination for both leisure and business travellers. Saudi Arabia one of our largest and most important source markets, as evidenced by the 750,000 Saudi visitors Qatar has welcomed between January and September 2016. Holding the first international edition of the Made in Qatar exhibition in Riyadh is testament to the importance of the Saudi market to Qatar, and we are proud to be supporting and sponsoring the exhibition this year. There are myriad opportunities for developing tourism in Qatar and this forum is a prime opportunity to attract investment that would energise our private sector to further develop enterprises that support the tourism sector in Qatar,” said Saif Al Kuwari, Director of PR and Communication at QTA.
Qatar Chamber strives to bring Qatari goods and services to the regional market. The choice to have Made in Qatar’s first international foray in Saudi Arabia reaffirms the significance of the neighbouring market to Qatar both in terms of size and breadth of industries capable of accommodating a variety of trade activities.
