Qatar, Philippine explore mutual cooperation

A delegation comprising of  38 Filipino businessmen headed by, Philippine Qatar trade Initiative senior adviser Jose Manuel  Momualdez, met with Qatari businessmen on Tuesday at the Chamber venue.

They exchanged views on ways of strengthening trade and economic relations and establishing genuine partnerships between businessmen of both sides. The meeting, headed by Qatar Chamber Board member Khalid bin Jaber Al Kuwari, focused on exploring mutual investment opportunities in both Qatar and Philippine.

The Visiting delegation represents fields of telecommunication, agriculture, real estate, aviation, information technology, logistic, truism and hospitality.

“Qatar and Philippine are friendly countries” noted Al-Kuwari adding that about 180.000 Philippine workers, professional engineers, nurses and construction workers are taking part in the hub Qatar witnesses.

He stressed the keenness of the State of Qatar on urging private sector to participate in the mega projects that are being implemented for developing the infrastructure and for preparation of  the 2022 World Cup.

He said that Qatari businessmen are interested in exploring investment opportunities in Philippine, patricianly in these fields.

For his part, Manuel Momualdez expressed thanking to the Chamber for hosting this meeting, saying “It is a good opportunity for building a positive interaction between both parties in investment and economic aspects”

Over 200 Philippine companies are operating in Qatar, added Ronvadez, expressing his hope to see more in the Qatari market.
