Qatar Chamber (QC) Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani will lead the Chamber’s delegation participating in the 142nd meeting of the Union of Arab Chambers (UAC) to be held on March 14-15 in Cairo.
A press statement issued by the Chamber yesterday said the delegation includes QC board member Mohamed Ahmed Al Obaidli, Chairman advisor Al Sayyed Rajab and Hamad Al Mohana, from Public Relation Dept.
During the meeting a new general secretary will be appointed among candidates of Egypt, Jordon, Syria, Sudan , Yemen and Palestine chambers.
Sheikh Khalifa said that the meeting will review establishing a data base for the UAC and setting up a special committee to represent the private sector in the Arab Initiative for Food Safety and Trade Facilitation.
He noted that the meeting would also discuss the investment opportunities in SMEs on a proposal submitted by Qatar. Mohamed bin Youssef Bahzad, head of Arab-EU SMEs Business Council, will present the opportunities available in this regard.
QC Chairman assured the Chamber’s keenness on developing and enhancing the trade among Arab countries which doesn’t meet the aspiration of Arab peoples.
There is an ongoing coordination among Arab chambers for stimulating the intra-trade and maximizing the mutual investments, he added.
