Omani Products Exhibition (OPEX) will be opened at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) today. The expo is being organised by Qatar Chamber, Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) and Oman’s Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (Ithraa).
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the Qatari-Omani joint business council will meet to promote trade cooperation by establishing joint ventures between the two sides.
Qatar Chamber Vice Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Tawar al Kuwari said the joint business council would focus on developing cooperation between Qatari and Omani businessmen.
Tawar said the Chamber is looking forward to more cooperation at the levels of investment and business, calling on Qatari and Omani business owners and investors to look into available investment opportunities in both countries and work on creating more projects that serve both economies.
He added that the Qatari commercial delegation’s visit to Muscat in June led several Omani firms to come to Doha for investment in Qatar.
The agreement that was signed in Muscat between the two chambers of commerce at that time paved the way for enhancing partnerships between the two sides.
The exhibition will showcase agricultural foodstuffs, building materials, industrial commodities, furniture, electric and electronic materials, health and medical products, textiles, leather products, fertilizers, cosmetics, plastics, industrial equipment, oil industry’s equipment and tools, and primary and petrochemical materials.
