MORE than 40,000 companies and 400,000 individuals are benefiting from the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) electronic services in Qatar, said a senior MoI official on Tuesday.
Participating in an induction seminar organised by the MoI in collaboration with Qatar Chamber on e-services, the Assistant Director of the General Directorate of Information Systems Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali al Maliki, said that the e-services offered by the ministry have eased transactions for companies and people, saving both their time and effort as they do not need to visit the headquarters.
“As many as five million transactions took place through our e-services systems last year. We offer more than 200 e-services in different fields, in six languages, including Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Malayalam and Spanish,” Brig Maliki added.
The MoI offers corporate electronic services such as direct debit services, PRO services, auto renewal services, mail delivery services, entry permit services, travel notification services and traffic services.
Through the Metrash2 application, MoI managed to expand their e-services. One of the new services that has proved very efficient lately, allows company representatives to carry out employees’ transactions through smart cards.
Moreover, he said that the transactions of Qatari documents can be completed anywhere by using Metrash2 and availing Qatar Post’s delivery services.
“Completing the transactions of Qatari documents (QID, passports) is now easier using Metrash2 with respect to receipt and delivery through either an authorised representative or Qatar Postal Services Company,” he continued.
Brigadier Abdulrahman Majid al Sulaiti, head of Planning and Quality Department at MoI, said that they are always keen on providing the best services for people by making the best use of technology.
