Kenyan Minister calls Qatari businessmen to invest in his country

Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman HE Mohamed bin Twar Al-Kuwari met on Sunday, March 5 with HE Moses Kiarie Kuria, Minister of Trade, Investment, and Industry of the Republic of Kenya and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was also attended by HE Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to the State of Qatar Boniface Nduva Mwilu.

During the meeting, both sides discussed means to enhance economic and commercial relations between both countries and reviewed the investment climate and opportunities available in Kenya and Qatar.

For his part, the Kenyan Minister praised the close relations between his country and Qatar, expressing the hope that the upcoming period will witness more development in their commercial and economic cooperation.

Kuria stressed his country’s desire to encourage Qatari investors to invest in Kenya, noting that it offers a host of opportunities in various sectors, such as food security, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, petrochemicals, and housing.

His Excellency called on Qatari investors to visit Kenya to get acquainted with the investment climate and opportunities it offers, as well as the incentives presented by the government, especially those in the economic zones in Mombasa.

In turn, HE Mohamed bin Twar affirmed that Qatar Chamber highly welcomes enhancing the cooperation between Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from Kenya, stressing that it encourages Qatari investors to explore the opportunities galore in Kenya which offers numerous opportunities in several sectors.

“Qatari investors are eager to learn about opportunities in Kenya and in Africa in general,” he said.

HE indicated that Qatar’s climate investment is attractive and that there are many mega projects that will be implemented in the state within the framework of Qatar Vision 2030.
