The ICC Qatar’s first banking workshop ended yesterday in Doha. With over 150 attendees, the two day event proved to be a very successful initiative.
Delegates ranged from a wide array of banks, export and import company’s, law firms, investment houses, ministries as well as participants from the Qatar Stock Exchange.
The workshop was opened by Mr Ahmed Al-Sheeb representing the strategic sponsors QNB.
Mr Al-Sheeb welcomed the delegates, and praised ICC Qatar’s initiative to bring to Doha such kind of training.
The two day programme focused on various topics including the benefits and problems letters of credit can bring to a transaction, document preparation and examination, refusals under documentary credits as well as many more issues.
Networking sessions were also a focal point of the workshop.
Workshop presenter Gary Collyer stated “It was a pleasure to host this event for the first time in Qatar and hopefully will become a yearly event, we are grateful to ICC Qatar in pushing forth with such events for the banking community”
