The International Chamber of Commerce Qatar (ICC Qatar) will organise at Qatar Chambers a ladies entrepreneurship event to celebrate the Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on 19 November 2014. The event, starting from 3 to 8pm, will be held as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a worldwide celebration featuring thousands of entrepreneurship-focused activities in over 140 countries, organisers said.
This year, over 15 organisations are participating in GEW-Qatar that will feature workshops, discussions, lectures and interactive sessions taking place from November 17 to 23. Silatech is the Qatar country host for GEW this year. The workshop on female entrepreneurship organised by ICC Qatar in partnership with Qatar Chamber, Silatech and How Women Work, will bring together key players in the local entrepreneurship ecosystem as well as women from various business sectors to discuss the latest developments and to provide insights on programs to empower women entrepreneurs, organisers said.
ICC Qatar Secretary General and Qatar Chamber Director General Remy Rowhani said, “Entrepreneurship is a crucial element of the Qatar National Vision 2030. Qatar Chamber will strive to stimulate services for entrepreneurs, supporting diversification and creating alternative employment opportunities for the national work force.” The event will feature a keynote speech from a prominent local businesswoman, inspiring stories from female entrepreneurs, an informative session on how to set up a business in Qatar as well as an interactive session to facilitate networking.
