Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani will preside over the Chamber’s second General Assembly Meeting (GAM) on Sunday May 28 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The meeting’s agenda will touch on reviewing the report of the Board of Directors on the Chamber’s activities and financial status for the year ending December 31, 2022 and discussing and approving the auditor’s report on the Chamber’s budget, final accounts, and the statement of revenues and expenses for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022.
It also will include discharging the members of the Board of Directors and approving the estimated budget for the fiscal year 2023, in addition to appointing a new auditor for the fiscal year 2023 and determining his fees.
The GAM also includes the elections of the new Board of Directors for the seventh council.
The final list of candidates for the new Board of Directors included 25 candidates.
All candidates in the insurance, banking, services, tourism, and agriculture sectors won by acclamation. They are HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani in the insurance sector, Rashid bin Nasser Al Kaabi in the banking sector, Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani in the services sector, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Ahmad bin Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Thani in the tourism sector and Mohamed Ahmed Khalifa Al Twar Al Kuwari in the agriculture sector.
The trade sector included eight candidates compete for five seats: Mohammed Mahdi Ajian Al Ahbabi, Rashid Hamad Hazaa Hamad Al Athba, Mohammed Sultan Abdullah Al Ali, Khalid Klefeekh Khalid Al Hajri, Mohammed Jawhar Saeed Mohammed Al Mohammed, Abdulrahman Abduljalil Abdulghani Al Abdulghani, Mohammed Ali Iskandar, and Ali Jassim Jabr Tawar Al Kuwari.
In the contracting sector, there are six candidates compete for four seats including Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed Ali Al Obaidli, Nasser Sulaiman Haidar Al Haidar, Ahmed Mohammed Sultan Al Jaber, Nasser Ahmed Al Meer, Shaheen Mohammed Lahdan Al Muhannadi, and Ali Abdullatif Al Misnad.
The industry sector also included six candidates compete for three seats: Abdullah Mohammed Abdulrahim Al Emadi, Abdulrahman Abdullah Ibrahim Al Ansari, Fahd Mohammed Fahd Buzwair, Khaled Jabr Sultan Al Kuwari, Ali Hassan Ibrahim Al Emadi, and Mohammed Talib Mohammed Al Khoury.
In a statement, the Chamber said the members who are entitled to attend the GAM and vote in the elections are those who have already paid the Chamber’s membership fees for the year 2023 till the date of the first meeting (May 10).
