19/4/2017

“Expo Turkey by Qatar” will kick off at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in Doha on Wednesday, under the patronage of the Qatar Chamber (QC).

Co-organized by the QNCC and Media City, the expo is set to attract a number of government officials from Qatar and Turkey, QC said in a press release on Tuesday.

The three-day exhibition aims to promote the strategic cooperation between Qatar and Turkey, and would focus on strengthening economic ties between the two countries.
A joint Qatari-Turkish Business Leaders’ Summit will be held on the sidelines of the event, QC said.

Qatar Chamber Director General Saleh Hamad al Sharqi said that deep-rooted ties between Qatar and Turkey give a good opportunity to the private sector to enhance bilateral cooperation, establishing trade partnerships and joint enterprises and boosting trade exchange.

He urged both Qatari and Turkish businessmen to establish joint ventures to promote economic and trade cooperation between the two friendly countries.

Al Sharqi pointed out that”Expo Turkey by Qatar” is an important event as it brings together the leading Turkish firms under one umbrella.

Over 300 Turkish companies representing 10 industrial sectors will display their products in the expo which enables Qatari importers to strike deals and transactions with Turkish manufacturers, to represent them in the Qatari market, he added.

He said Qatar’s market welcomes more Turkish products, thanks to their high quality, which meets European standards.

He said the chamber is currently considering to hold the “Made in Qatar Exhibition” in Turkey, particularly after the success of the last edition held in Saudi Arabia.

He also emphasised the chamber’s keenness on strengthening the relations between Qatari and Turkish businessmen, noting that there is a good opportunity to enhance mutual cooperation and establish partnerships.

More than 300 companies from eight industries including construction, property and real estate, building materials, furniture, tourism, health tourism, food, IT, transportation and accessories will participate in the expo, QC said.

For his part, Abdul Aziz Al Emadi, CEO of Qatar National Convention Centre said: “In recent years, we have witnessed the strategic alignment of values between Qatar and Turkey. We have seen our ties grow stronger, our visions come together, and our economies supporting one another. Over the years, we have recognized that although values are being exchanged by both countries, there are opportunities that have yet to be capitalized on. Thus, on behalf of the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), we are very pleased and proud to partner with MedyaCity and unveil Expo Turkey by Qatar, a three-day business exhibition that aims for cooperative benefit.

We view Expo Turkey by Qatar as a binding tool that focuses on the domains of economics, knowledge, trade, and cultural exchange between Qatar, Turkey, and other nations within the Middle East and North Africa. Our goal is to provide a platform for all participants, whether in commercial or governmental sectors, to network and exchange interests, opportunities and knowledge.

QNCC has been and will always be a leading supporter in all of Qatar’s strategic initiatives and international diplomatic relationships, and this exhibition is no exception. We are dedicating over 20,000 square meters of exhibition space, 52 meeting rooms, and various amenities and facilities to ensure not only the successful delivery of the Expo, but to set the foundation for a legacy of bolstered relations between Qatar and Turkey.”

Expo Turkey by Qatar is the first business exhibition of its kind to be held in Qatar at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The goal of the event is to strengthen bilateral economic relations between Qatar and Turkey and to position Qatar as a trade gateway that opens Turkey up for business in the region.

More than 300 companies from eight industries – including construction, property and real estate, building materials, furniture, tourism, health tourism, food, IT, transportation and accessories – will participate in Expo Turkey by Qatar.

In an effort to boost trade volume between the two countries, Expo Turkey by Qatar will feature a summit of business executives from Turkey and MENA (Middle Eastern and North African) countries, Turkish culture exhibition, and business-to-business meetings.

“Expo Turkey by Qatar will be a step above the rest with the introduction of a smart hub for businessmen to meet and exchange value and knowledge. It will be recognized as one of the biggest exhibitions in Doha, with approximately 5,000 participants forecasted to attend, and over 20,000 square meters to be utilized. I would like to thank Qatar Chamber’s Director General, Mr. Saleh Al Sharqi and  Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Emadi, CEO QNCC and MedyaCity professionals for bringing our initial idea of what Expo Turkey by Qatar would be into fruition.  We are jointly proud of this exhibition and hope that it contributes to the commercial interests and diplomatic relations shared and valued between Turkey and Qatar.” Said Mr. Hakan Kurt, CEO Medyacity.
