The Sultanate represented by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host the 5th Arab – Indian Partnership Conference on 14-15 December 2016 under the theme ‘ Partnership towards innovation and cooperation in IT’
The opening ceremony will be under the auspices of Sayyid Kamil bin Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Assistant Secretary General at the Office of the Deputy Prime Ministers for the Council of Ministers Affairs in the presence of a number of ministers , senior officials , business leaders and investors from both India and Arab countries.
The Conference is organized in collaboration with the Foreign Minsitry, Arab League Secretariat, the Ministry of External Affairs in India, the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Arab Countries (GUCCIAC) and Federation of the Arab Business (FAB).
About 500 Arab and Indian government officials, academicians, businessmen and investors are expected to take part at the conference.

The aims of the conference
The conference aims at enhancing flow of investments from both sides, accelerating the investment projects at a number of prioritized sectors, activate the existing joint ventures, provide conducive environment for export promotion and sharing of expertise.
A large number of ministers, senior officials, business leaders in addition to chairman of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Arab Countries (GUCCIAC) and Federation of the Arab Business (FAB) will take part at the conference.

About previous conferences
The fourth India-Arab Partnership Conference was held under the theme ‘ New Horizons in Investment, Trade and Services ‘ on November 26-27, 2014 in New Delhi.
20 countries participated at the conference including 119 participants from the Indian side and 102 participants from the Arab League members.
Some of the specific areas for discussions at the conclave include pharmaceuticals, food and energy security, notably from renewable sources, healthcare, tourism, banking, human resource development, education, research and technology development.
The two sides signed two MoUs
Many high-level business-to-business meetings were held among Arab and Indian businessmen and investors.
