The Qatar Chamber has recently participated in the Executive Office, the Board of Directors and the General Assembly meetings of the Arab-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CASCI) which were held in Geneva.
The Chamber’s delegation included Board Member Rashid bin Nasser Al-Kaabi, General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al-Sharqi, and Director of International Relations and Joint Chambers Affairs Sheikha Tamader Al-Thani.
During the executive meeting, Rashid Al-Kaabi was elected as the First Vice-President of the CASCI, and the President of the Tunisian Union of Industry Samir Majoul as the Second Vice-President.
In turn, the Board of Directors unanimously approved the election and expressed their confidence that the new Arab members of the Executive Office will play an essential role in activating the Chamber’s activities and developing its services.
The Board of Directors meeting reviewed the Chamber’s work plan and activities for the year 2023 and stated that the next meeting would be held in June 2023 to discuss the budget.
The CASCI meetings touched on several topics aimed at enhancing commercial cooperation between Switzerland and Arab countries and encouraging mutual investments.
It is noteworthy that the CASCI was created in 1974 to constitute a vital trade link for doing business between Switzerland and the Arab World. It mainly aims to promote and expand commercial and cultural relations between Switzerland and the Arab Countries, improve and extend opportunities for industrial and technical cooperation between both sides, and encourage the transfer of technology, professional training, and the creation of joint ventures in industry and trade.
